A Wondering Question – Christian Groups

I was just thinking about the slaughter of the Branch Davidians about two decades ago. Still wondering why they were handed a death sentence without a trial. Same as the fellow and his wife in Idaho a few years before that. We know that the other religion that is at war with anybody who dares disagree with them in the slightest. Now what if a sect of a non-denominational religion adopted all the tenents of the group that hates everyone, but does have, have say the hate filled rhetoric of the group from Kansas where its hate-filled leader recently died. But instead of being a small group like that, they were a group of millions everywhere. What would the government do? And would what they do to the other group to be “Fair” and “Equal”? Or would it be a Branch Davidian Redux? Wandering minds need to know?

  1. York, the fellow in Idaho was Randy Weaver and his wife was named Vicki and his 14 year old son was named Sammy. Randy had refused to infiltrate the Aryan Nation and become an informant for the ATF. In an attempt to compel Randy to work for ATF an undercover informant bought two shotguns Randy had for sale then shortened the barrels to below legal length. Trumped up charges of selling illegal firearms were brought against Randy with the offer that if he cooperated and informed on the Aryan Nation the gun charges would be dropped. Randy refused and government agencies targeted him and his family for a campaign of harassment.

During the 4th week in August 1992 US Marshals were conducting surveillance and harassing the Weaver family while clearly trespassing on Weaver’s property. Deputy Marshal, Art Roderick clad in camouflage, night vision goggles, and armed with an M-16 began throwing rocks at Weaver’s cabin. When Sammy’s dog, Striker, alerted Sammy and family friend Kevin Harris initially thought a game animal was in the vicinity so took their rifles and went to investigate with the dog in the lead well out in front. In an abrupt and tragic confrontation the Marshals shot and killed Striker, Sammy shot back at the Marshals who returned fire and shot Sammy in the back as he was running away and killed him , then Kevin Harris killed Deputy Marshal Bill Degan who had killed Sammy.

ATF called in the FBI and the armed standoff was on. Randy was eventually shot in the back without warning by an FBI sniper. The same sniper, Lon Hourichi, then shot and killed Vicki as she stood in the front doorway of her cabin home holding her 10 month old baby in her arms.

There’s much more to the story. Anyone interested can type Ruby Ridge into their browser.

  2. Thanks Rope. I knew Idaho, but forgot Ruby Ridge. Anyway, it was the ATF involved in each. Strange how two quiet groups were destroyed by the ATF and they basically got away with it. Just looked at the dates and Ruby Ridge was the Summer of ’92 and the Branch Davidians was the Spring of ’93 and both were ATF. But now the enemy of the ATF is returning vets from Iraq and Afghanistan. My wandering wonderings is the next group of who, when and where. Maybe at a Nevada or Utah Cattle Ranch?

  3. Lookslike religious interference by Gummint to me. A Battle, or a War?

IRS Will Monitor 99 Churches on Behalf of Freedom From Religion Foundation to Avoid Another Lawsuit

There’s some funny business (and not the ‘haha’ kind) going on between the IRS and the Freedom From Religion Foundation. After the IRS presented a letter to the Justice Department that states 99 churches “merit high priority for examination,” the FFRF dropped their lawsuit against them.

The IRS also held private talks with the FFRF, purportedly, to assure them that the monitoring of churches will definitely happen.

Justice Department attorney, J. Christian Adams, explains on Fox News:

“They want them to convert theology to political. They want them to convert them to politics and say, “hey that’s not theology that’s political and you shouldn’t be talking like that.” And they wan to use the IRS as a weapon against christianity, against faith.”

The FFRF has accused these 99 churches of illegal electioneering activities by expressing one sided views on ‘political’ issues. These ‘political’ issues are things such as stances on homosexuality, abortion, and religious freedom rights even though no candidates are associated or mentioned.

  4. York, it would be informative to examine the parallels between the ATF’s assault on the Branch Davidians at Waco and their more recent Fast-n-Furious gun running operation. Some of the same top level people were involved in both murderous operations and for exactly the same underlying reasons.

  5. Here’s a helpful hint to all those who live in rural areas. You can always tell well in advance when government assassins are planning to come on your property and murder your wife and children. They first start calling your home a compound. (edit BOLD by Ys, I just had to do it)

  6. Rope, I’d like to Think I’m not Paranoid, but that creepy crawly thing that keeps running through my head, plus a lifetime of fighting off crap that keeps happening to me, I am Paranoid, more or less. :-) From the ESTATE (all quarter acre of it), York. :-|

And don’t forget the kidnapping of Elian Gonzales, ordered by Janet Reno (Now THERE’s a weirdo for ya!). The same Janet Reno who was involved in the Waco raid.
