  1. I’m glad to see you guys did your civic duty but there is another duty I believe you need to address: Bridging The Gap.

I figure at one time in the not so distant past our Editor actually considered Perry
our “friend on the left”. If that is was so, it no longer rings true. After seeing two, count them two, communists elected yesterday, one in Virginia and the other as Mayor of New York City, the last thing this republic needs is for conservatives to finance and support left wing radical web sites. Hell, the leftists already control the media, the schools and colleges, the unions and are purging the military. Is it really necessary for a conservative to pay even two cents to provide a platform for a commie leftist to spout off about how bad we are? Out of his own pocket? Do you believe Perry who lives in an upscale area of Lewes, is retired and probably owns his home outright needs a subsidy from a working man in Jim Thorpe who is providing for his own family, his own retirement and helping his Patriotic, military daughters progress through life?
    Because I don’t, and I think it’s similar to sending $10 a month to moveon.org.

If you don’t agree with me then click over to Bridging the Gap and read in Perry’s own words exactly what the thinks of you, me and the Editor. Then tell me I’m wrong.

  2. No thanks, I’m not interested in anything Perry/et al has to say on any topic, ever. As far as I’m concerned his existence, while grotesque, no longer concerns me. He thoroughly disgraced himself here, then wallowed in vile self-inflicted humiliation at Patterico’s site, and finally succeeded in getting himself dismissed for cause.

Why anyone would poke at a dead skunk is beyond rational comprehension.

  3. Say, Mr Editor, we’re only about 2 weeks or so from the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination. How about a thread dedicated to that highly controversial topic? It might attract a few new commenters. Think it over.

You mean like I was there in Lafayette Park when Kennedy’s funeral procession went by the White House entrance along with about 20 heads of state following the horse drawn hearse carrying Kennedy type thing. Also, Charles DeGaule was in that group standing there.

    1 - 1 KenFune

  5. Yes, I went there. I lived in Baltimore at the time. My older brother and a friend of his, and I went. We took the city transit bus about 1:30am to the Greyhound station in Downtown B-more. Caught something about 3:00am to DC at 6th St. and NY Ave. NW. Then we “WALKED” to Lafayette Park at 16th St. and PA. Ave. NW at around 4:30am and got there about 5:00am. We were some of the first ones there. The Funeral procession came by around 11:00am. After we saw that, we went back to Greyhound and home in time to watch the burial on TV at Arlington.

BTW, 50 years later if you’re walking from 6th & NY to Layette Park at 4:00, pin some ID on you. Chances are you won’t make it.

  6. Only once.

The Brad Blog, which you cited, kept up with the silliness that George Bush somehow stole the 2004 election. I’ve always considered him to have a kook factor nearly the equal of Blu’s.

  7. Only once.

Better than those disenfranchised by Republican policy then.

    I’ve always considered him [...]

Have you ever reflected on this blog’s long, long habit of being dead wrong, and wondered why starting off a sentence with “I’ve always considered…” never seems to lead to anyone paying attention to it?

  8. If you don’t agree with me then click over to Bridging the Gap and read in Perry’s own words exactly what the thinks of you, me and the Editor. Then tell me I’m wrong.

I agree. Why continue to provide the ingrate with a bathroom wall so he can write dirty words on it? Pull the plug, shut it down, better yet, erase the thing entirely.

  9. Ropelight,

I’ve appreciated your occasional reminders, and now find, via the curious number of visits showing up for one old TBD posting in particular, another authority in support of them: myself.

Nothing like being personally cited in order to remind one of how slack in application one’s previous determination can become.

Although my comments in question, about dropping off and then tentatively revisiting Dana’s sites, pertained mainly as I recall to Perry Hood (throw in Mike Ganzeveld and Jeromy Brown too if you wish) a case could be made that Phoenician in a Time of Romans had at times been the malevolent primus inter pares among the trollish disruption specialists.

You are of course right about the ultimate futility of wasting time on trolls – even when one manages to finally extract some outright admission from them concerning their troll intent and nature. And now I have been reminded again.

You may say “I told you so” if you like.

  10. The Phoenician contradicts himself:

Have you ever reflected on this blog’s long, long habit of being dead wrong, and wondered why starting off a sentence with “I’ve always considered…” never seems to lead to anyone paying attention to it?

The fact that you have quoted it means, by definition, that you paid attention to it. And if you believe that this site has a “long, long habit of being dead wrong,” why do you waste your time here?

I mean, if you are going to keep knocking on the door, you could at least pay for it! :)

    Bob: “THAT’S THE ONE !!!”

  12. And if you believe that this site has a “long, long habit of being dead wrong,” why do you waste your time here?

As with Eric and his hilarious pronouncement about selling his still unwritten novel for a million dollars, to rub your nose in your wrongness.

The idiot right bears a large responsibility for the decline in what was once a great, if flawed, country.

  13. For my money the historically failed communist left bears the majority of the responsibility for obvious failure of what once was a flawed country (just like all others are). The decline of America seems to coincide with the rise of these commie pigs within our boarders. They have taken the filthy, vile, vulgar an failed social, religious and political ideas of other countries and transported them to a once vibrant, independent, freedom-loving Christian nation and with the help of the Perry’s in America and the Dumbasses internationally have set in motion the ruin of our country. But I could be wrong. I’ve only spent 60 years observing the rise of leftist ideology in the U.S. and the coincidental fall of our society and stature in the world. Just an observation.

I mean it’s hard to blame the right when we spend all our time on this blog trying to thwart either existing or proposed new leftist ideas in America. If it’s their programs that are influencing things then how the hell is it the right which caused it?

  14. No, DNW, I can’t fault you for doing something I’ve often done too. Resisting the temptation of low-hanging fruit is a learned discipline. We’ve all fallen prey to attention seeking defectives who throw out easily refuted and obviously idiotic pronouncements to bait the unwary. It’s tempting to crush their pathetically ignorant fantasies with hard facts and cold logic, but like Brer Fox’s Tar Baby the point was never polite response but always only to ensnare.

As long as Dana refuses to disallow disruptive low-brows, outcasts, and defectives from contaminating the quality of discourse here, the insane delusions of society’s isolated misfits and failures will continue to prevent the majority of honest and civil commenters from evolving an intellectually superior environment. Dana won’t draw the line at personal decency or public propriety, so one bitter, lonely, isolated, self-hating, attention seeking, cripple can inflict the symptoms of his multiple mental disorders on people who despise him.

  15. so one bitter, lonely, isolated, self-hating, attention seeking, cripple can inflict the symptoms of his multiple mental disorders on people who despise him.

But ropelight, ain’t that what being a leftist is all about?

  16. Rope, I agree with everything above, only I would use the term “Attention Whore” to describe the thing instead.

And you were right a few days ago, too. As long as we keep feeding the thing, it will continue to hang around. Better to starve the parasite, and maybe it will drift off in search of a new host.

  17. Yes Hoagie, I neglected to add that point. Thanks for reminding me. It’s also a point DMW makes.

Eric, I did consider using Attention Whore, but decided against the false attribution of marketplace ethics.

I don’t know how “controversial” the assassination is, but it will be done.

  19. For my money the historically failed communist left bears the majority of the responsibility for obvious failure of what once was a flawed country (just like all others are).

Yes, but, Hoagie – you’re a liar. Nothing you say can be trusted.

  21. You amuse me Dumbass, because you are a liar yet have so little dignity you call others out on what you yourself have done. Now don’t

    obama

lie to me again and state you’ve never lied in your life. Or better yet, state you’ve NEVER lied so we can all see your hypocrisy for what it is. You, like all your commie hero’s live a lie. So come on, Dumbass, type right here that you’ve never lied in your life. Come on. Poke, poke. I assume if you have lied, even one time in your life, by your own definition nothing you EVER say again will be trusted. Since we all know you’re full of shit, being a liar will at least shed some light on why you’re full of shit, Dumbass. Is that how your little, very narrow mind works? Poke, poke. Or is it too busy thinking of Eric, Yorkshire and me? Cause we’re in there and we’re fuckin’ with you every day. Ha, ha, Poke, poke.

Remember, you worked very hard to earn the name “Dumbass” you so proudly demonstrate with every idiotic posting. So keep’em coming Dumbass. Poke, poke.

  22. You amuse me Dumbass, because you are a liar yet have so little dignity you call others out on what you yourself have done.

    Uh-huh.

“[Obama] is the largest spender in history whether the history books like it or not. Plus, he already managed to get us downgraded and we’re headed that way again.” – Hoagie, Thursday, 10 October 2013 at 16:21

“Dumbass, you’re a liar. I never stated Obama got the US downgraded. I stated it occurred on his watch. Don’t they teach librarians reading comprehension down there? Dumbass.” – Hoagie, Thursday, 10 October 2013 at 22:53

  23. It’s called a mistake Dumbass or are you error free as well as never have lied? A lie would be me saying I have any respect for you whatsoever, Dumbass. Now that’s a lie. But if you insist in calling a screw up a deliberate lie then since I’ve told you I was wrong and you persist then it is you who becomes the liar.

You never fail to live up to your name, Dumbass.

  24. It’s called a mistake Dumbass

Sorry. shit for brains – a “mistake” is saying “I never stated Obama got the US downgraded.”

    Here’s what you said:

“Dumbass, you’re a liar. I never stated Obama got the US downgraded. I stated it occurred on his watch. Don’t they teach librarians reading comprehension down there? Dumbass.” – Hoagie, Thursday, 10 October 2013 at 22:53

You’re a lying sack of shit, Hoagie. Deal with it.

  25. Oh, and by the way, Hoagie, you lying sack of shit – we’re still waiting for the proof that Topher Spiro, Vice President for Health Policy at the Center for American Progress., and Jonathan Gruber, professor of economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, are communists AS YOU LIED ABOUT on Thursday, 24 October 2013 at 16:08.

It’s faaaaascinating that you pretend to be so innocent WHEN I’VE DOCUMENTED YOU REPEATEDLY LYING, you lying sack of shit.

Where’s the proof Gruber and Spiro are Communists, you lying sack of shit?
