Oops! UK Climate Change Czar: Humans May Not Be Responsible For Global Warming After All

Michael Miller
On May 30, 2013

Holy carbon offset, say it ain’t so, Al! The UK’s Energy and Climate Change czar said this week that although he still believes the earth’s temperature is rising, “natural phases” may be to blame.

Translation: We didn’t do it. (Al Gore unavailable for comment.) From The Telegraph:

Ted Yeo, an environment minister under John Major, is one of the Conservative Party’s strongest advocates of radical action to cut carbon emissions. His comments are significant as he was one of the first senior figures to urge the party to take the issue of environmental change seriously.

He insisted such action is “prudent” given the threat climate change poses to living standards worldwide. But, he said, human action is merely a “possible cause.”

  1. Well, raise my rent! Smacked around for years by verifiable evidence, Ted Yeo finally, grudgingly, manages to bring himself to acknowledge Earth’s climate (which has changed many many times over the eons) may not be totally driven by today’s human activities. But, he’s not ready to abandon the one true religion just yet, he’s not willing to take a bite of the apple, but he’s OK with licking up a few dew drops. This courageous man of science has crossed his Rubicon, sort of, he’s gone all the way from direct cause to possible cause. Surely, the Gods of the Copybook Headings must take note of such creatures.

Well, raise my rent! Smacked around for years by verifiable evidence,

The evidence has always been there. Humans have known it’s been warmer and colder than it is now. Take these two verifiable incidences. About 15 years ago a man was found in the Alps by some hikers. The man was embedded in the snow and ice for centuries as it was found out. So, if many hikers have not found this man in the decades before, it shows the man died, was buried in snow and ice for centuries when it was colder and preserved, then natural warming melted the ice and he was found later.

Another verifiable incident happened in Alaska. A glacier was melting and retreating. Under the glacier were “Tree Stumps”. Now how would a tree stump be under a glacier. Well, it grew in a warm period, then sliced off by an increasing glacier in a cold period, and exposed in a warm period.

How hard is it to understand the earth has warm and cold cycles? It was a Mideaval warm period that Europe Flourished. The Vikings went to Greenland because they could farm there. Then the Mini-Ice Age came along and stopped that.

  3. Here’s one to ponder at your leisure, York. Frozen mastodons discovered intact in solid ice above the Arctic Circle have been found with undigested tropical vegetation in their stomachs. Tropical vegetation doesn’t grow in the far north, and mastodons digest food much faster than they could walk the thousands of miles from tropical or even temperate zones.

Yet, the mystery remains unsolved, mastodons are found with their stomachs full of plant food that doesn’t grow anywhere near where they’re found frozen in time and circumstances unexplainable in a gradually changing environment.

The disciples of GlowBall Warming view the world like the lens I just bought fo my camera. It’s a very long lens at 1300mm. The field of vision is about 2degrees wide. That is with a field of vision being 360deg you view 1/180 of the total view. Whereas, a mind open to all possibilities sees like an 18mm lens with a field about 110deg or 11/36 of the total view. Or let’s call it tunnel vision. One will not see what one doesn’t want to see. Unfortunately Ted Yeo will be pillored for Eco-Blasphemy. He will be labeled an apostate.

  6. York, we have a new Secretary of Energy, Ernest Moniz, who’s not about to sully himself debating climate change, for him it’s revealed truth and he isn’t about to let something as insignificant as facts get in the way of a convenient and profitable prejudice.

Climate change isn’t debatable! That’s his story and he’s stickin’ to it. Moniz is a self-revealed poster boy for ignorance compounded arrogance, and yet, with a straight face no less, this clown pretends to be a scientist.

Here’s an excerpt from Russell McClendon’s 5/28/13 article in the Sacramento Bee

New DOE Chief Insists Climate Change ‘Not Debatable’

Physicist Ernest Moniz was sworn in last week as U.S. Energy secretary, and wasted little time laying out his priorities. Along with a major speech on energy efficiency, as well as pronouncements about nuclear power and natural gas, he issued a blunt warning to any opponents or obfuscators of climate science: The jig is up.

“Let me make it very clear that there is no ambiguity in terms of the scientific basis calling for a prudent response on climate change,” he told a crowd of Energy Department employees May 21 following his swearing-in ceremony at DOE headquarters.

“I am not interested in debating what is not debatable,” he added, echoing a recent survey published in the journal Environmental Research Letters ( http://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/climate-weather/blogs/study-97-of-scientists-agree-on-climate-change ) that found 97 percent of climate scientists agree about manmade global warming. “There is plenty to debate as we try to move forward on our climate agenda.”

Moniz called clean energy and climate change his top policy priorities…

Top Naval Officer Considers Climate Change Biggest Threat in Pacific

(Not long ago) Mar. 13, 2013 11:09am Liz Klimas

A top officer for the U.S. Navy at an event in Cambridge, Mass., last week talking about the current atmosphere in the Pacific region of the world — what with North Korea’s recent threats and potential conflicts between other countries — chose to speak about another looming threat: climate change.

As we first brought to you on TheBlaze blog, Navy Admiral Samuel J. Locklear III on Friday told scholars at Harvard and Tufts universities that climate change would be “the most likely thing [...] that will cripple the security environment, probably more likely than the other scenarios we all often talk about.’’

Locklear said in an interview with the Boston Globe the Navy will hold an exercise in May with several Asian countries to run through “what-if” scenarios and that supplies are being collected in strategic locations for potentially catastrophic events.

“The ice is melting and sea is getting higher,” Locklear said, according to the Globe. “I’m into the consequence management side of it. I’m not a scientist, but the island of Tarawa in Kiribati, they’re contemplating moving their entire population to another country because [it] is not going to exist anymore.”

  8. York, here’s an excerpt from Norman Rogers’ 5/31/13 article in the American Thinker, it provides a brief and accurate description of why the climate change scam persists in the face of a growing mountain of hard evidence exposing the blatant fraud.

Science in the Service of Ideology: The National Climate Assessment

Climate science is a mixture of real science and junk science. The real climate science knows a lot about climate, but it doesn’t know how to predict the future, and it doesn’t have a good handle on the effect of greenhouse gases. The fake “the sky is falling” climate science created a financial and professional windfall for numerous special interests: climate scientists, bureaucracies, politicians, green groups, ethanol producers, and windmill manufacturers, to name a few. The beneficiaries of this windfall are very protective of their empire. A climate mafia protects the windfall by suppressing dissent from the global warming party line. Very few scientists are brave enough and independent enough to publicly dissent. The scientific organizations that are sensitive to government funding gleefully promote the scare story. Many climate scientists know full well that a fraud is in motion, but they have no desire to walk into a buzz saw by complaining.

  9. Rope said in part: Science in the Service of Ideology Really, what is Ideology? Well, I see it as a spoken or unspoken set of rules where everyone should act in a uniform way (don’t think for yourself, you will be wrong). You will see this on College Campii where most of this is codified to a point. Also, too many times, it’s in the eye of the beholder. What you say may in your mind be a no thinker, but to someone spoken to, OR, they were not directly addressed, but overheard while walking by, OR wanted to be insulted. I was involved in this informally when I was working (retired now and loving every bit of speaking without self policing my speech). Over six years ago I lost my right leg, a co-worker had part of his brain removed to stop seizures, and another had a lazy eye. Well, these all sound serious, but to us, they were a good source of jokes to cope with our ailments. We would laugh at each other with one liners like, “I’d like to give you a piece of my mind”, and “you don’t have a leg to stand on…” or, “who are you looking at, really” It really worked. We NEVER felt sorry for ourselves because the three of us knew that no matter how bad off we were, there was always worse. HOWEVER, people walking by thought it was just terrible how we treated each other. Our response – Get A Life. And it pissed us off that our way to cope, was disdained by assholes. And with breaking the PC Code, I introduce this:

Political Correctness: Taking Its Toll on Society

May 30, 2013 by Fred DeRuvo

In our first segment, we discussed the meaning of political correctness and origins. The trouble with political correctness is that the more you dig into it, the deeper the hole seems to become. It’s almost as though one can never quite get to the end (beginning) of the entire issue because it is so convoluted.

We know that political correctness is a way of thinking that drives a person’s actions and words. Though not necessarily legislated (in most cases), the pressure placed on individuals to be politically correct can often frustrate most people into submission. We spoke of the example of homosexuality and the fact that, in spite of no proof whatsoever, people are led to believe that all gay people are born that way. Because they are born that way, anyone who disagrees with the gay lifestyle is seen as a hater. After all, the gay person had absolutely no choice in the matter it is argued, therefore, they are being condemned for something they had no control over. How could anyone force their opinion onto a gay person that smacks of demagoguery? That is hate according to the left.

There are many examples of what political correctness has done to society. In the end, political correctness is something that robs people of independence of thought, whether their opinions are good or bad. Political correctness seeks to remake society into something else altogether so that the values and principles that once guided society are overthrown and replaced with new ones. This is done by teaching people to rely not on logic, but on their feelings. More on that in a moment.

We spoke briefly in our last segment about how the New Left has infiltrated society at all levels and works from within to recreate society. The left has done this by gathering to itself a new coalition of people made up of minorities. Women, blacks, Hispanics, as well as other ethnic groups, and gays, lesbians, transgenders – all people who have felt cast off by the mainstream of society. These individuals would come in handy for the left. They would become their “useful idiots” who would speak to the virtues that the New Left wants to see replace the old ones.

Why Environmentalism Is The Left’s Religion Of Choice
    byFrank Camp

“For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” – Romans 1:21

The knowledge of God is innate, whether or not we want to believe it. We are born into a world filled with wondrous things; and as we see and experience these things, our innate knowledge of God is fostered, and is shaped into something emotionally and intellectually tangible. As adults, we know that, in spite of our desires to rule ourselves, we are not the ultimate power; we are not God.

Once we understand that there is indeed a grand power, we are compelled to seek its origin. Some will find faith in God, some will deliberately walk in the opposite direction—into anti-belief—and some will create their own god. More and more, people are choosing to create a god in their own image, rather than worship a god that created them in his. That is where environmentalism comes in.
