  1. Yorkshire asked:

Where’s Perry when we need a super apologist?

Perry spent several weeks pontificating at Patterico, but then ropelight pointed out why Perry was finally banned here. Patterico asked me if what rope said was correct, and I confirmed it and referenced the banning article, at which point Patterico put Perry into the automatic moderation queue, to insure that no personal attacks were published without approval, and Perry seems to have subsequently left; I guess that he was not willing to sit through moderation.

Wonder how the Pro-Obama sites are doing. Where’s Perry when we need a super apologist?”

He has is own site, courtesy of Dana. He could display his talking points there.

Have you looked at it recently? I have. I looked in to see what he had to say about North Korea, and there was nothing. I looked in to see what apology he was putting up on the Libyan fiasco and cover-up. Nothing.

I looked in to see what excuse he might have had to offer on the matter of the IRS targeting of conservative Americans, and the sharing of confidential financial information with left-wing advocacy groups. Nothing.

Nor does he have anything to say regarding the AP monitoring affair.

Though I guess if some talking points to pass along did arrive in his e-mail, and he chose to relay them they would more or less be:

Obama’s handling NK just right. Libya: no story here move along please. IRS: an inconsequential aberration; and they were also just doing their jobs applying the microscope to these unpatriotic selfish white male groups; and it’s all a Bush’s appointee’s fault anyway.

So maybe after years of familiarity with his modus, we really don’t need to hear him actually say anything in order to know what he is thinking.

    Yeah LOL.

But it was just us chasing each other in circles.

I will once again say this regarding the now departed lefty flamers. Two years and more experience in engaging them settled one question at least.

It revealed that deep down inside them, there was, to trot out a cliche, no there there. And they amply demonstrated that they believed that themselves, as implied by their overall views on the nature of reality.

Based on their own characterization of humankind, it follows that they are in the final analysis, just another kind of meat machine.

However for some reason, which they would probably admit is ultimately irrational, they don’t like having it pointed out to them.

Thus, what that huge and seeming waste of time demonstrated once and for all through those tedious months of exchanges, was that it is pointless trying to reason with organisms that believe that reality is fundamentally unintelligible, and that reason is simply one tool among many which an embodied appetite existing in an ultimately meaningless and value free world employs to satisfy a welling urge.

There is therefore no telling them that what they want is intrinsically unreasonable, or bad, or that it constitutes a trespass, because for them these terms are objectively meaningless.

There is just no reasoning with a liberal. We know this from experience. Slapping its light-fingered hands is all you can do. That, or submit to its characteristic methods of predation and appropriation. It’s ultimately the task, wanted or not, of each one of us to choose which it will be.
