  1. I’m tired of all this paranoia. There’s something cowardly about seeing (and fearing) enemies everywhere. The fact is, the terrorists have a dismal record of terror attacks in the US. You are more likely to be bit by a rattlesnake than killed in a terror attack. It’s time to gain some perspective and stop running around like chickens with their heads cut off!

    Bwahahahahahahah.

“High RWAs [right wing authoritarians] are, in general, more afraid than most people are. They got a “2 for 1 Special Deal” on fear somehow. Maybe they’ve inherited genes that incline them to fret and tremble. Maybe not. But we do know that they were raised by their parents to be afraid of others, because both the parents and their children tell us so. Sometimes it’s all rather predictable: authoritarians’ parents taught fear of homosexuals, radicals, atheists and pornographers. But they also warned their children, more than most parents did, about kidnappers, reckless drivers, bullies and drunks–bad guys who would seem to threaten everyone’s children. So authoritarian followers, when growing up, probably lived in a scarier world than most kids do, with a lot more boogeymen hiding in dark places, and they’re still scared as adults. For them, gay marriage is not just unthinkable on religious grounds, and unnerving because it means making the “abnormal” acceptable. It’s yet one more sign that perversion is corrupting society from the inside-out, leading to total chaos. Many things, from stem cell research to right-to-die legislation, say to them, “This is the last straw; soon we’ll be plunged into the abyss.” So probably did, in earlier times, women’s suffrage, the civil rights movement, sex education and Sunday shopping. ”

    Told you so.

  3. What, you return after a long absence, and then you cite the Lost Kos? All that you’ve managed to do is to quote the liberal caricature of what they think conservatives believe.

It’s not just paranoia, or as the psychologists say, maintaining defenses, that is exhausting. It’s trying to philosophically (or mentally) integrate and to make seamless sense of conceptually un-integrateable ideas.

They, conservatives, see the masochists of the left just asking for it; and as a result can’t reconcile within themselves just what the threat really is.

Conservatives – as I have mentioned before – because of their particular worldview which is based on the concept of objective ends and the power of reason as principle arbitrator of ends and values, find themselves in an untenable associative situation vis-a-vis the anthropological annoyances that confront them.

They are enjoined by their own principles to impute an intrinsic and shared humanity to their opponents on the basis of certain realist predicates which, they are aware or should be aware, their opponents outright reject. As a result, they experience the ongoing but avoidable frustration of trying to salvage the entropy worshipers and hucksters from themselves; when in fact there is no real point in doing so if the entropy worshipers and hucksters are right about even themselves, or about the nonexistence of a unified “humanity” in general.

Rorty, for example, has admitted that the nominalists of the left, like himself, really have no objective claim on fellowship, and that they just want what they want because they want it. Their, the so-called liberal-ironist types, response to pretty much everything that engages a conservative’s interest is a shrug and a smirk. When conservatives finally learn, at least in principle, how to shrug at them and their fate in return, then they will experience one whole hell of a lot less frustration.

They will be free to look out for their own interests, instead of struggling to paddle to to shore with one arm, while carrying a flailing burden which is determined to drown with the other.

  5. The “West” isn’t blind. It’s just that some within it are suicidal, while others have no interest in what you take to be freedom.

    Bwahahahahahahah.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, the Lost KOS complaining about authoritarians when BO doesn’t get his way, he sends out an Executive Order. And BO’s “ACT” after he lost the Gun Control Bill is hilarious.

  7. And who’s afraid of law abiding citizens owning gun? The Left or conservatives?

Who fears and hates pregnancy more than the feminazis and the abortion lobby they supports religiously?

Who fears and hates God more than the “Atheists”, who, in truth, should be called anti-theists?

It’s odd that one side fears bad things, things that corrupt (gay marriage, pornography) and the other side fears things like normal, biological sex (which is designed to create babies, which the Left hates). Everyone fears something, if you don’t, there’s something seriously wrong with you, but the things that we fear are quite different.

“… Everyone fears something, if you don’t, there’s something seriously wrong with you, but the things that we fear are quite different.”

    “Everyone fears something …”

Well, everyone with something to yet live for. Which should make the average lefty fearless.

” … the things that we fear are quite different.”

The greatest fear of the average postmodernist leftoid turns out to be that of finding itself thrown back on the resources of itself or its own kind.

It’s next greatest fear is probably that the productive people who grudgingly underwrite the well-being of this average neurotic leftoid, will come to the realization that since the leftoid’s own moral system is fundamentally nihilistic, supporting it is at best the equivalent of blindly inviting an arsonist to live with your family, or a pedophile to share sleeping quarters with your small daughter.

Wasting one’s life energies on slyly subversive and nihilistic bags of determinedly self-destructive appetite should be the greatest fear of the conservative. Instead however, they seem to fear doing a potential injustice to a being that does not, on its own theory of value, even inhabit the same moral universe.

Fearing God, the conservatives fear to do an injustice to one of His creatures; or at least to a fellow natural kind. The leftoids cynically exploit this conservative inhibition.

But how can one, in principle, do an injustice to a being which has in the first place and on its own theory of value, no objective rights, or even nature?

As Rorty admits, you can’t. All they have then, is rhetoric, narrative fabrication, and endless re-description which they hope will eventually wear everyone down or provoke feelings of sympathy through “stories”.

Unfortunately for them, personalizations and stories have the potential of working both ways. While they might succeed in eliciting sympathy for the “suffering” of a neurotic lefty reconfigured or generalized as a “fellow being”, putting real names to the characters into these stories is equally capable of providing the opposite effect.

An image, for example, of the murderous Maoist Bill Ayers, gasping for breath in 6 inches of frigid ditch water is a narrative unlikely to elicit sympathy from anyone rational or well informed.

  9. dead american create ‘phobias’ nothing has killed as many people on the planet as islamic fundamentalism, or for that matter have had body parts systematically removed as punishment, when a beautiful young british victoria’s secret model’s face is scared permanently in a sharia law religious mandate… you have to say wtf?! if raping or beating religion into people is fine with you, it’s just the religion for you, look up on youtube and you will know forever: christian man from india beaten nearly to death converts to islam, acid attack, kirdish girl stoned to death, saudi arabian executioner at work, gays stoned to death, hand chopped off for sealing, nose cut off honor, honor killing daughter… maybe you people for this should petition the white house for arabic swords like the saudi execution, so if you have to kill your daughter in an honor killing for kissing or liking the wrong boy and embarrassing your family, you can take her head off with one quick blow, instead of a few minutes of rocks until dead… to enforce the sharia law that has infiltrated the entrance to harvard law school, the passage of the koran which is quoted by harvard as one of the best passages ever written on justice in scripture, or the imam of obama’s funded muslim brotherhood, the imam from egypt openly saying that an islamic flag will soon fly over the white house, or a few hundred thousand muslims marching to get the government to execute the atheist bloggers, it’s a capital crime to be gay in over half a dozen quranic theocratic countries on this earth, to insult, slander, or damage anything to do with their prophet, holy books, beliefs, churches, will give you a death sentence, with is enforced as a religious mandate, did you know that there are over 60 sharia courts operating in the united kingdom? how about the prez’s quote: ‘the most beautiful sound on earth at sunset is the islamic call to prayer’, or when he was seriously looking into ‘allah is god’ curriculum for CSCOPE, or the schools teaching to take away constitutional rights, make kids wear burqas, make kids draw a new socialist flag, burqa the statue of liberty because it offends islam, the law in saudi arabia to burqa the faces of even babies to keep them from sexual assault. there has been a ‘worldwide jihad’ declared by the muslim brotherhood, there are many videos that can be found on youtube that will show anyone the truth. thank you for your time.

  10. “Everyone fears something….”

Really Eric? What do you fear? I can understand leftists in fear. You, not. Sorry my friend. If you have a fear it must be pesonal. I don’t see fear in you anywhere.

  11. “An image, for example, of the murderous Maoist Bill Ayers,….”

Now THAT is a lovely image, my friend. A leftist in his own shit. You know DNW, I think you have a finger on the pulse of these leftist pigs, and they don’t like it. Bravo! Guess we are “enemies of the state” cause we believe in Freedom!

  12. Really Eric? What do you fear? I can understand leftists in fear. You, not. Sorry my friend. If you have a fear it must be pesonal. I don’t see fear in you anywhere.

Well, I fear any number of things most sensible people fear – poisonous snakes, large sharks, other dangerous animals and also car crashes. I drive both agressively and carefully, several years of motorcycle riding taught me how to be on the lookout for drivers about to do something stupid. My two biggest physical fears are of being paralyzed, especially from the neck down, and also being burned alive. And some power tools, especially chainsaws, make me nervous.

But my real fear is heights (odd for someone with a pilot’s license and who went into military aviation). My ultimate nightmare job would be any kind of construction on high buildings. Those old newsreel scenes of men working high steel in New York or building the Golden Gate bridge give me the serious heebie-jeebies. And recently my condo assoc hired a crew to replace all the roof shingles, meaning men (mostly Mexicans) had to clinb 40 feet in the air on long ladders carrying tools and heavy loads of shingles up and down them all the time. Never mind being on a steeply sloping roof with the chance of losing your footing, tumbling to the ground and breaking your neck and being a vegetable the rest of your life. No way I could do a job like that even if the alternative was living in a box by the river and eating rats and garbage.

Lefties like to try and have it both ways. They like to claim that “socialization” and hence the foundation for any human moral sensibilities “goes all the way down”. They will take this principle of socialization or cultural imprinting even further, and claim that that there is no human nature at all. Making impossible of course any valid trans-cultural or trans-value-system moral judgments at all.

But, then, when they are feel like dishing out a little emotionally gratifying invective, they will hint, and more, that libertarian or conservative morality is founded in some suspect genetic architecture infecting a more normal humankind.

Or just as comically they will claim, say, that homosexual behavior, is genetically determined when they want to imply that the condition or inclination is supposedly beyond moral judgment, but suggest that it is not genetic when they wish to preserve the homosexual from being categorized as relatively defective in some way or even genetically/naturally/morally alien.

They also like to claim that conservatives and even libertarians of all people, are “authoritarians”. For all I know and I had all the same psych classes most other undergrads did (about 36 CRs), this may well be true of some “conservatives”; but if so, and by the same criteria, it is true of many leftists.

What after all is a Maoist or a Stalinist dogmatist but an authoritarian collectivist? If you doubt it just try engaging left-wing moral shit in sustained discussion as I have, and it won’t take long before you find out that these hypocritical social justice pimps generous proviso that dissenters may be allowed to hoe their own rows in a limited way, if they feel they absolutely must, applies in detail to precisely no acres of land or tool boxes, or access to metals or the right to freely exchange without mediation, at all.

Or you can just read a history book or their own manifestos and theories and save yourself a lot of time and wasted energy in finding out what they are really up to and about.
