Phil A. Bluster Worked

Sen Rand Paul staged an actual Mr. Smith goes to Washington filibuster against Brennan for CIA. What he was trying to do was get an answer from the President and/or the Attorney General to say they Will Not Use DRONES on Americans on American Soil. Here’s the answer from Eric Wihholder, a clear “NO”. Senator Paul WON.

  1. “Here’s the answer from Eric Wihholder, a clear “NO”.”

Which will be right up there with: “I am not a cheat”, “Read my lips, no new taxes”, “I did not have sex with that woman”, “I will close GITMO during my first year in office”, and countless other bullshit lies told by leftists through the decades.

Frankly, I’d say the surest way of knowing American civilians will be targeted is that they deny it. It was Obama in July of 2008 who stated:
“We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded.”

As Lauri B. Regan wondered in an article at American Thinker

“Putting aside the fact that Obama has never articulated national security objectives for his administration, he has yet to explain why a civilian national security force is required to be funded with money the government does not have to face an enemy or threat that is nonexistent.”

So now they have 2,200 armored vehicles, 1.6 billion rounds of ammo, are working on up to 30,000 domestic drones and some “civilian national security force” but Holder’s answer is “No”. Seems like White House tours are the only thing cut by sequester, surely not all this anti-American civilian junk.

  2. I confess I had to SEARCH for CSPAN2 to watch the filibuster, but once I found it, it was a joy to listen to the mostly junior senators’ impassioned words. In spite of the efforts of Senators McCain and Graham to ridicule the 13-hour event, I believe that much-needed enthusiasm was breathed into the conservative movement throughout the day and night.

Increasing the pleasure of the historical event was being able to join the tens of thousands of folks on Twitter with back and forth commentary and #StandWithRand tweets. I hope those of you who haven’t checked Twitter out yet, will give it a try. It is both fun and informational! I’d be GLAD to follow those who sign on. @GretchenInOK and my “backup” account, @OKGretchen.

  3. Excellent, Yorkshire! Sen. McCain and Sen. Graham are finding themselves marching in opposition to many conservatives.

You may recall that they similarly upbraided Sen. Ted Cruz during his questioning of Chuck Hagel at the time of Hagel’s confirmation hearing. The two “old bulls,” as some in the media are calling them, seem threatened by the growing popularity of many of the recently elected GOP senators. Too often these days, Sen. McCain and Sen. Graham DO seem to be out to lunch.

  4. I don’t think I have time for Twitter. Yesterday I spent much of the day on the iTunes site, listening to lots of songs by the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin, trying to figure out which ones I want to pay for. And when I’m not doing that, I’m on looking up and sometimes reviewing movies.

I feel the same way about Facebook too. Just no time for it.
