Alas! Despite our best efforts, Doug Ross failed to include either THE FIRST STREET JOURNAL or TRUTH BEFORE DISHONOR in the 2012 Fabulous 50 Blog Award Winners.
But, amongst our blogroll friends, there were some winners:
- Hot Air, as the Best Group Blog;
- RedState, a tie for Best Political Site;
- Robert Stacy McCain won The Ernie Pyle Award for Best Political Blogger;
- Erick Erickson was named the Most Influential Political Blogger;
- Pirate’s Cove was one of a three-way tie for Best Climate Blog;
- Chris Muir, Day By Day was one of a two-way tie for Best Cartoonist;
- Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion was the Best Law Blog;
- Sister Toldjah, was one of a six-way tie for Best All-Around Blogging;
- Jeff Goldstein, Protein Wisdom won for Best Writing on a Blog;
My guess is that Mr Ross simply isn’t familiar with our site, or we’d surely have won in either political commentary, economics or the most bile amongst commenters categories.

I suspect that many of these winners do not have the free speech philosophy which you and Patterico’s Pontifications have, Mr Editor. Some of the winners do not permit dissent, for example, Sister Toldjah.
It is also obvious that neither Liberal nor Progressive nor Centrist blogs make the winners list. These bloggers only like listening to their own choir, which is pretty useless, in my view.
Although I frequently don’t agree with you, I find your blog well written, topical, and thought-provoking, therefore much more useful than some of the others on the winners list which I have sampled.

Says the radical progressive who can’t handle views other than his own and threatens people who disagree with him.

It’s called “epistemic closure”, and the results can be seen in the confident assertions prior to the election that Romney would win 300+ seats.
Wingnuts lie. But, far worse, wingnuts lie to themselves and then believe those lies.
Doug Ross is a conservative, and runs a conservative site. I’m sure that there are liberal blogs which have similar lists, on which only liberal sites are included.
As usual, the Phoenician has nothing to say other than “wingnuts” and scream and moan about a country he doesn’t even live in.
Mr Norman, you must forgive the Phoenician. Christmas comes to New Zealand early, and he awoke to a lump of coal in his stocking; that would put anyone in a sour mood.
LOL. Point taken, Mr. Editor.
They counted wrong. WE’RE NO.1

Uh-huh – “It’s called “epistemic closure”, and the results can be seen in the confident assertions prior to the election that Romney would win 300+ seats.”
Which is why you people never learn – you simply can’t see people explaining the obvious to you.
And we’ve just finished the friends and families bit for the last two days, so we’re relaxing and slowly realising to our horror just how crap TV is on Christmas day.
