She’s the Bitch that took God out of School and nothing has been the same since. And this was over her son having to pray at Poly HS in Baltimore. Remember it well. She moved to Texas, went missing, found dead much later. And I think her son became a minister. Now today we had another PREYING at school, but it was of children. I wonder if each school shooting, the heat is turned up higher at her current residence.

Saw Obama comment on this. And honestly, I didn’t think he was going to get through his comments without breaking down. He did wipe away a tear or two. It was tough for him to handle. I will praise him for his words.

  1. How, in the name of fuck, are these things connected, even given your addled senile mind? do you really REALLY think that if kids are forced to mumble more magic words in school, there will be fewer homicides?

For the love of rationality, Yorkshire – the US is the most religious Western country around, and yet you seem to be murdering each other an order of magnitude more than anyone else.

Maybe, just maybe, another factor might be associated with madman deciding to kill his mother – and packing up his three loaded guns to do so…

  2. As I recall, this old bag went whining to NASA when the Apollo 8 astronauts started reading from Genesis on their way back from the Moon.

  3. From Wikipedia: It happened in 1963 along with all the other things that altered the course of America and more or less derailed the core fabric of the country. To me, it was the start of the long slow descent we’re in now. What was commonplace in 1962 has been peeled back slowly to the point of what was normal life then, is now looked at as you could do that then. This woman was a starting point of all normal nuclear families complain of today. That is if normal nuclear families still exist anymore.

Madalyn Murray O’Hair (April 13, 1919 – September 29, 1995) was an American atheist activist. She was the founder of the organization American Atheists and served as its president from 1963 to 1986. One of her sons, Jon Garth Murray, was the president of the organization from 1986 to 1995, while she remained de facto president during these nine years. She is best known for the Murray v. Curlett lawsuit, which led to a landmark Supreme Court ruling ending official Bible-reading in American public schools in 1963. This came one year after the Supreme Court prohibited officially sponsored prayer in schools in Engel v. Vitale. O’Hair later founded American Atheists and became so controversial that in 1964 Life magazine referred to her as “the most hated woman in America”.[1][2]

In 1995 she was kidnapped, murdered, and her body mutilated, along with her son Jon Murray and granddaughter Robin Murray O’Hair, by former American Atheist office manager David Roland Waters.

Man stabs 22 children at China primary school

A man stabbed 22 primary school students in a knife attack in China on Friday, officials said, the latest in a series of assaults.

The attacker “has been detained”, said a spokesman for the Guangshan county government in the central province of Henan, where the stabbing happened.

“Twenty-two elementary school students were stabbed, so was an adult villager” but none of the victims died, the official, who declined to give his name, told AFP.

Gee, do you think that might also have something to do with the plutocratic policies you have been pushing making it a necessity for both parents to work if families want to try and hang on to a middle class lifestyle?

You can’t have your idealised Leave It To Beaver world any more, because Mr and Mrs Cleaver both have to work so the CEO can afford his fifth mansion…

The economic necessity for both parents to work outside of the home is caused by both parents working outside the home. In 1960, the vast majority of careers were closed to women — and to blacks — meaning that the available labor pool was much smaller: only white men were allowed to compete for and hold the best jobs. It was, in effect, making the American white male one vast union labor pool, in a closed shop nation.

The great opening of careers to women and blacks that began in the 1960s had the natural economic effect of doubling the size of the available labor supply in a short period of time, a far shorter period of time than it took the demand for labor to double. That, in itself, did increase the demand for labor in some ways — families in which both parents worked needed two cars, not one, and wives were too busy to get up early and fix their husbands breakfast and pack a lunch for him, increasing the demand for quick-service food — but not in the form which led to a massive doubling of industrial output; the great expansion was in the service sector.

Add to that competition from abroad. In the 1960s, “Made in Japan” meant cheap cameras and inferior consumer goods. But foreign producers kept improving the quality of their merchandise, while international shipping costs declined (relatively speaking), to the point at which higher-cost American labor coupled with lower cost intranational transportation of merchandise was higher than lower-cost foreign labor and higher international shipping costs, and imported goods started to become less expensive, for the same (or, in some cases, superior) quality of merchandise. It’s a basic principle of economics: individuals will, over time, seek to maximize their economic advantage, and the natural prejudice to buy American-made products slowly gave way to the economic advantages of buying less-expensive imported goods.

Now, we could return to the point at which white men could support their families with their jobs alone, but it would require:

    • Bombing the other industrial producers to the point at which the US had 45% of the entire world’s industrial capacity again;
    • Seizing the petroleum-producing nations, and taking their oil for our own, to replace the fact we were the world’s largest oil exporter;
    • Repealing all of the civil rights laws, and seriously restriction the ability of women and blacks (and today, Hispanics) to work in any other than a restricted number of jobs; and
    • Return societal norms to the 1960 mode, where sex outside of marriage was condemned, requiring men to get married in order to get laid, and concomitantly restoring the societal condemnation of divorce.

Hey, I’m good with all of that!

I suppose we could have a situation like that, if we were willing to live like the Chinese. Of course, this website would not exist, because websites critical of the government are quickly shut down and the proprietors thereof thrown in jail. There would be no dissent, because dissent is quickly squashed, there would be no freedom, because freedom is intolerable to the Communist government, and, of course, men would have huge problems because they would outnumber women by almost 20%, so someone like you would lose out in the competition for women and be left with nothing but auto-eroticism. (The option of homosexuality would also be restricted.)

  9. The gun grabbers are exploiting this tragedy figuratively 5 minutes after the last shot was fired. Australia decided in 1997 to ban guns for all the standard gun grabbers reasons. It worked out so well for them, NOT.

AUSTRALIA: MORE VIOLENT CRIME DESPITE GUN BAN
    April 13, 2009

It is a common fantasy that gun bans make society safer. In 2002 — five years after enacting its gun ban — the Australian Bureau of Criminology acknowledged there is no correlation between gun control and the use of firearms in violent crime. In fact, the percent of murders committed with a firearm was the highest it had ever been in 2006 (16.3 percent), says the D.C. Examiner.

Even Australia’s Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research acknowledges that the gun ban had no significant impact on the amount of gun-involved crime:

In 2006, assault rose 49.2 percent and robbery 6.2 percent.
Sexual assault — Australia’s equivalent term for rape — increased 29.9 percent.
Overall, Australia’s violent crime rate rose 42.2 percent.

It just follows the oldest bumper sticker around – “When Guns are Outlawed, Only Outlaws Will have GUNS”

  10. An interview with John R. Lott, Jr.
author of More Guns, Less Crime: Understanding Crime and Gun Control Laws

Question: What does the title mean: More Guns, Less Crime?

John R. Lott, Jr.: States with the largest increases in gun ownership also have the largest drops in violent crimes. Thirty-one states now have such laws—called “shall-issue” laws. These laws allow adults the right to carry concealed handguns if they do not have a criminal record or a history of significant mental illness.

Question: It just seems to defy common sense that crimes likely to involve guns would be reduced by allowing more people to carry guns. How do you explain the results?

Lott: Criminals are deterred by higher penalties. Just as higher arrest and conviction rates deter crime, so does the risk that someone committing a crime will confront someone able to defend him or herself. There is a strong negative relationship between the number of law-abiding citizens with permits and the crime rate—as more people obtain permits there is a greater decline in violent crime rates. For each additional year that a concealed handgun law is in effect the murder rate declines by 3 percent, rape by 2 percent, and robberies by over 2 percent.

Concealed handgun laws reduce violent crime for two reasons. First, they reduce the number of attempted crimes because criminals are uncertain which potential victims can defend themselves. Second, victims who have guns are in a much better position to defend themselves.

There are many websites on John Lott. I chose this since it was conducted by the University of Chicago that had a gun ban and a horrific murder rate:

Yeah, “makes sense.” I know plenty of people who owns guns… and none of them would do something as monstrous as this. A lot of them wouldn’t harm anyone. Don’t try to tell me otherwise. I view gun control like Prohibition… even if you ban the guns, the criminals are still going to find them if they want to get them.

  13. So in your mind, because one psycho shoots someone, we should ban all weapons?

Why, no – I think every American should have guns. I think every American should walk the streets with concealed pistols. I think five year old Americans should carry assault rifles to school. I think you should give grenade launchers to American babies the moment they’re able to pull triggers.

I think Americans should have every opportunity to demonstrate their values on each other.

    Homicide

    1. Where there are more guns there is more homicide (literature review).

Our review of the academic literature found that a broad array of evidence indicates that gun availability is a risk factor for homicide, both in the United States and across high-income countries. Case-control studies, ecological time-series and cross-sectional studies indicate that in homes, cities, states and regions in the US, where there are more guns, both men and women are at higher risk for homicide, particularly firearm homicide.

Hepburn, Lisa; Hemenway, David. Firearm availability and homicide: A review of the literature. Aggression and Violent Behavior: A Review Journal. 2004; 9:417-40.

    2. Across high-income nations, more guns = more homicide.

We analyzed the relationship between homicide and gun availability using data from 26 developed countries from the early 1990s. We found that across developed countries, where guns are more available, there are more homicides. These results often hold even when the United States is excluded.

Hemenway, David; Miller, Matthew. Firearm availability and homicide rates across 26 high income countries. Journal of Trauma. 2000; 49:985-88.

    3. Across states, more guns = more homicide

Using a validated proxy for firearm ownership, we analyzed the relationship between firearm availability and homicide across 50 states over a ten year period (1988-1997).

After controlling for poverty and urbanization, for every age group, people in states with many guns have elevated rates of homicide, particularly firearm homicide.

Miller, Matthew; Azrael, Deborah; Hemenway, David. Household firearm ownership levels and homicide rates across U.S. regions and states, 1988-1997. American Journal of Public Health. 2002: 92:1988-1993.

    4. Across states, more guns = more homicide (2)

Using survey data on rates of household gun ownership, we examined the association between gun availability and homicide across states, 2001-2003. We found that states with higher levels of household gun ownership had higher rates of firearm homicide and overall homicide. This relationship held for both genders and all age groups, after accounting for rates of aggravated assault, robbery, unemployment, urbanization, alcohol consumption, and resource deprivation (e.g., poverty). There was no association between gun prevalence and non-firearm homicide.

Westboro Baptist Church to Picket Sandy Hook Elementary

Westboro Baptist Church, also known as the universally agreed upon worst human beings, have announced their plans to head to Newtown, Connecticut, to picket Sandy Hook Elementary following the Sandy Hook Massacre.

You may know them from their previous work: protesting soldiers’ funerals, thanking God for 9/11, picketing Matthew Shepard’s funeral, and going around toting signs that read “God Hates Fags.” America right now is extremely divided (even after a horrendous rampage that would bring any sane human to tears, we’re ready to come to blows with each other over gun control) and yet every single American who is not a member of the Westboro Baptist Church agrees that they’re awful and we hate them.

And now they’re ready to picket at the death site of 6-year-olds and 7-year-olds. They have no shame and no remorse and they believe they are doing God’s will. A member of the church recently tweeted:

“Westboro will picket Sandy Hook Elementary School to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment.”

The worst human beings? Their views are vile and their protests repugnant, but, as far as I know, they have never killed anybody, have never raped anybody, have never engaged in anything beyond hateful words. The man who murdered those 26 people in Newtown, Connecticut is far worse than the Westboro idiots, the gang-bangers who shoot up Philadelphia and Chicago are worse, the Communist dictatorships in China and North Korea which oppress their own people are far, far worse.

  22. Loathe as I am to defend the Phoenician on this one, but Jesurgislac’s accusation was wholly specious.

But I suspect she was entirely correct. Even Pho never really did defend himself from the charge, nor did his “Friends” on Pandagon. She smelled a rat, and identified that rat correctly.

Yes, I am angry. Pho is a human black hole, who sucks out every act of human kindness and returns anger and vitriol instead. Here we have a human tragedy, and he is prattling on about little kids saying “Magic words”. He lives only to hurt. What a pathetic piece of humanity.

  23. No, mass shootings are not on the increase

Posted by William A. Jacobson Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 5:00pm

I told you yesterday that the remedies suggested in response to the Newtown, CT, shooting would be all about the politics.

Demands for bans on assault weapons in a shooting that did not involve an assault weapon [see update], or for greater gun control laws in response to a shooting in a state with gun control laws which were complied with, are based on emotion, not analysis.

The perception that mass shootings are on the rise such that “something must be done,” appears to be emotion not supported by facts, No rise in mass killings, but their impact is huge:

There. I apologized. I hope your fucking happy. Now go suck a dildo, you asshole.

  26. Liberal Culture Was Breeding Ground for School Shooter
Written on Sunday, December 16, 2012 by Tad Cronn

The height of hypocrisy is revealed when people who spend their days criticizing conservatives, refuting traditional values, damning religion and removing every sign of God from public life suddenly are shocked when an unstable young man kills almost 30 people, most of them small children.

The sight of liberals mewling about how “something” has changed in our country that encourages mindless violence, but then blaming guns, video games and everything under the sun but the obvious cause, would be funny if it were not such an unspeakably sad commentary on our modern secular culture.

Mike Huckabee is only the latest conservative to be piled on by the Left for observing that the deterioration of education and public morality coincides with the restriction of prayer and religion:

“We’ve made (school) a place where we don’t want to talk about eternity, life, what responsibility means, accountability — that we’re not just going to have to be accountable to the police if they catch us, but one day we stand before, you know, a holy God in judgment. If we don’t believe that, then we don’t fear that. … Maybe we ought to let (God) in on the front end and we wouldn’t have to call him to show up when it’s all said and done at the back end.”

Almost Every Young Person Believes Truth and Morality are Relative

posted on December 17, 2012 by Gary DeMar

We live in a world of cause and effect. People act on what they believe. Some people are more consistent than others. While there is a call for banning guns, the ban we really need is on the teaching of moral relativism and promoting it in every medium known to man, especially in our nation’s schools.

We won’t hear one word about how moral relativism is corrupting the youth of America. There’s still a remnant of moral absolutism among older generations and among liberals who have created a new moral absolutism. Liberals, of course, will deny that their brand of moral absolutism is having a negative effect on society so they blame guns, poverty, and conservatives for our belligerent culture.

Allan Bloom rocked the educational establishment with his 1987 book The Closing of the American Mind. Unfortunately for students, most professors didn’t pay much attention to what Bloom had to say:

“There is one thing a professor can be absolutely certain of: almost every student entering the university believes, or says he believes, that truth is relative. If this belief is put to the test, one can count on the students’ reaction: they will be uncomprehending. That anyone should regard the proposition as not self-evident astonishes them, as though he were calling into question 2 + 2 = 4. These are things you don’t think about. The students’ backgrounds are as various as America can provide. Some are religious, some atheists; some are to the Left, some to the Right; some intend to be scientists, some humanists or professionals or businessmen; some are poor, some rich. They are unified only in their relativism and in their allegiance to equality.”

  28. Armed, Off-Duty Cop Prevents Mass Shooting In San Antonio

WOAI: SAN ANTONIO – Gunfire erupted at the Mayan Palace Theatre on Southwest Military Sunday night just before 9:30 pm. This shooting comes just days after a deadly rampage at a school in Connecticut and sparks memories of the the mass slaying at a movie theater in Aurora, Colo.

An armed off-duty deputy working security was able to take down the shooter before he could kill anyone.

Investigators tell News 4 WOAI the gunman is 19-year-old Jesus Manuel Garcia. They say he worked at the China Garden restaurant right next to the Mayan Palace Theater. Police say Garcia opened fire at China Garden because of relationship problems with his girlfriend who also worked at the restaurant, although she was not present at the time. Officers explain that Garcia then continued to fire his weapon across the parking lot and into the theater. Garcia even opened fire on a San Antonio Police Department patrol car explained Detective Lou Antu, spokesman for the Bexar County Sherriff’s Office.

“Everybody was just coming out of the side of the theater, running out the emergency exits. And everyone was screaming and running,” explained a moviegoer named Megan.

Garcia was finally stopped by a deputy who was working an off-duty job at the theater. The deputy shot Garcia four times. “The officer involved, she took the appropriate action to try to keep everyone safe in the movie theater,” Antu said. Antu says the gunman never made it into the theater itself, thanks largely to the heroic work of the off duty deputy. “She did what she felt she had to do,” Antu said. “I feel that she saved a lot of lives by taking the action she had to take.” Garcia has since undergone surgery and is in stable condition at San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC). He’s being charged with aggravated assault for shooting at an officer and shooting a bystander. That bystander is listed in stable condition. 17 Dec 2012, 8:55 AM PDT

  30. Catholic League’s Donohue: Secularists Fighting War on Christmas
    Monday, 17 Dec 2012 05:26 PM

By Steve Malzberg and Jim Meyers

Catholic League President Bill Donohue tells Newsmax he is fighting against a “war on Christmas” being waged by secularists trying to “dilute or neuter” the real meaning of the religious holiday.

He also declares that some atheists who attack Christmas are “mean-spirited people” using the First Amendment as a club.

    Read more http://www.newsmax.com/US/donohue-newton-connecticut-christians/2012/12/17/id/468101?s=al&promo_code=11214-1#ixzz2FQDVlI5D

  31. The “War on Christmas” has been dutifully waged by merchants who begin their collective chanting about their wares that day after Labor Day.

That said, Bill Donohue is the last person you, or anyone should quote on anything involving moral issues, as he is so lacking himself, for example:

Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, issued a statement yesterday defending Father Benedict Groeschel, who earlier this week blamed child victims of pedophile priests for their rapes. Calling Groeschel’s service “heroic,” and his record “impressive,” Donohue claims Father Groeschel merely “hypothesized how a young person (14, 16 or 18, as he put it) could conceivably take advantage of a priest who was having a nervous breakdown.” Groeschel told the National Catholic Register that in a “lot of the cases, the youngster — 14, 16, 18 — is the seducer.” (my bold)

Bill Donohue is a most hateful person, a terrible spokesman for the Catholic League. If you don’t believe me, I suggest you read the entire referenced cite, and check out some other cites in the article. Catholics ought to campaign for his removal as a spokesman for their faith.

  32. Uh, Wagonwheel, the War on Christmas DOES exist: overzealous political correctness, such as referring to Christmas trees as “Holiday trees,” trying to ban a Charlie Brown Christmas special down in Arkansas, people being “offended” when someone tells them “Merry Christmas…” there are many examples of this. I’ve encountered it quite a bit. Sometimes i just “Merry Christmas” to piss off the oversensitive crybabies who take “offense” at being Merry Christmas.
