I’m at work, and don’t have the equipment to enlarge the image to where you can see it, but on the bottom of the front page of today’s Philadelphia Inquirer was one of the funnier headlines I’ve seen recently:

New Yorkers awaken to an altered universe

No subways, tunnels, or rail service. Scant power to charge iPods.

Cue Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now: “The horror.”

    Brando was repeating the key line from Joseph Conrad’s novella Heart of Darkness, on which Apocalypse Now was based.

    I thought NYC was already an “Altered Universe” I guess this is another Notch DOWN!
