BO Shows Contempt For Those Who Serve The Country (Not Optimal)

The more I read of Benghazi, the more I see BO as having utter and total contempt for those who try to protect this country. It’s as if BO believes these people serve him, not the country. I can not fathom how anyone serving the country can be so contemptable to put campaigning above the country he has SWORN to protect. But we have seen, BO even holds his oath of office in contempt.

Update (5:53 PM ET): President Barack Obama reportedly refused to provide a direct answer to repeated questions on whether requests for help in Benghazi were denied as the attack was underway during an interview with 9News in Denver on Friday.

Kyle Clark, a reporter with 9News, asked the president about the requests for help and whether or not it was fair to make Americans wait for answers on Benghazi until after the election.

“The election has nothing to do with four brave Americans getting killed and us wanting to find out exactly what happened,” Obama said. “Nobody wants to find out more what happened than I do.”

The president went on to say he wants to “gather all the facts” and find out “exactly what happened” and bring justice to the terrorists who attacked the U.S. mission in Libya.

What’s in bold is a real BULLSHIT answer. He knows what happens, and if it’s told before the election, he loses big for letting 4 Americans die. The resident at 1600 PA Ave., NW, Washington, Disease does not want the election endangere by his own incompetence.

He’s right the election has to do with a Commander-in-Chief who watched in real-time as four brave Americans were murdered by Islamic terrorists over a 7 hour period and who prevented US forces from responding to their repeated calls for help.

Nobody wants to cover up the facts or to allow voters to find out what happened more than Barack Obama, that’s why he’s told one ridiculous lie after another and it’s why he ducks questions like the one Kyle Clark asked him.

When someone says “Nobody wants to find out more what happened than I do.” that’s code for I’ll say anything right now to pretend I want the truth to come out when that’s the last thing I’ll ever let happen.

  9. Nobody wants to find out more what happened than President Obama does? He’s President of the United States, he should have been involved in what happened, and he should know, from first hand knowledge, what happened.

He cared so much, he went to a Fund raiser the next day. ‘If four Americans get killed, it’s not OPTIMAL’: Obama’s extraordinary response to Comedy Central question about shifting story after Benghazi attack
    By Toby Harnden In Washington

    PUBLISHED:16:44 EST, 18 October 2012| UPDATED:07:41 EST, 19 October 2012

President Barack Obama, during an interview shown on Comedy Central, has responded to a question about his administration’s confused communication after the Benghazi attack, by saying: ‘If four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal.’

Obama was speaking to Jon Stewart of The Daily Show for a programme that was broadcast last night. Stewart, a liberal whose young audience is full of potential voters prized by the Obama campaign, asked the president about his handling of the aftermath of the Benghazi attack.

But Obama’s response sparked outrage among Republican commentators including the website Breitbart and prompted a vicious backlash from the Twitter community.

Has General Carter F. Ham, commander of U.S. Africa Command, been fired for defying Leon Panetta on Benghazi?

Glenn Reynolds, the Instapundit, ran a piece Saturday afternoon titled “Interesting Rumor Concerning General Carter Ham and Stand Down Order.” This piece is presented as a rumor. It suggests that General Ham was told to stand down from sending aid to Benghazi, that General Ham on his own decided to proceed, and that he was then relieved of his command. Obama to nominate Army Gen. Rodriguez to lead AFRICOM

U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. John M. Paxton is President Barack Obama’s nominee to serve as the assistant commandant of the Marine Corps.
    U.S. Marine Corps

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will nominate Army Gen. David Rodriguez to succeed Gen. Carter Ham as commander of U.S. Africa Command and Marine Lt. Gen. John Paxton to succeed Gen. Joseph Dunford as assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta announced Thursday.

Both appointments must be confirmed by the Senate.

Rodriguez is the commander of U.S. Army Forces Command and has served in a “variety of key leadership roles on the battlefield,” Panetta said.

He’s “a proven leader” who oversaw coalition and Afghan forces during the surge in Afghanistan, and “was the key architect of the successful campaign plan that we are now implementing,” Panetta said.

In announcing Ham’s successor, Panetta also praised the work Ham has done with Africa Command.

“Gen. Ham has really brought AFRICOM into a very pivotal role in that challenging region,” Panetta said. “I and the nation are deeply grateful for his outstanding service.”

Last week, Panetta announced that Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Joseph Dunford will succeed Gen. John Allen as the top commander in Afghanistan. Thursday, he said Paxton will step into Dunford’s current position.

Paxton is the commander of U.S. Marine Corps Force Command, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Europe and Fleet Marine Force Atlantic. Panetta called Paxton “an exceptionally capable leader” who will join the “growing cadre of senior military leaders who have deployed to combat theaters… throughout their careers.”

  17. The plot thickens. STARS and STRIPES is reporting an AP article about the sudden action to temporarily relieve Rear Admiral Charles Gaouette, the Admiral in charge of the aircraft carrier strike force in the Mideast. He’s the Navy’s counterpart to General Ham of AFRICOM who was also replaced under unprecedented circumstances.

NAVY REPLACES ADMIRAL LEADING MIDEAST STRIKE GROUP

Defense Department WASHINGTON — The Navy said Saturday it is replacing the admiral in command of an aircraft carrier strike group in the Middle East, pending the outcome of an internal investigation into undisclosed allegations of inappropriate judgment.

Rear Adm. Charles M. Gaouette is being sent back to the USS John C. Stennis’ home port at Bremerton, Wash., in what the Navy called a temporary reassignment. The Navy said he is not formally relieved of his command of the Stennis strike group but will be replaced by Rear Adm. Troy M. Shoemaker, who will assume command until the investigation is completed.

It is highly unusual for the Navy to replace a carrier strike group commander during its deployment.

The Navy did not reveal details of the allegations, citing only an accusation of “inappropriate leadership judgment” that arose during the strike group’s deployment to the Middle East. Rear Adm. John Kirby, the Navy’s chief spokesman, declined to discuss the investigation.

  18. Hoagie asked:

Wow! Twenty comments from ” our friends on the RIGHT” and not one comment from a leftist! WHY?

Hey, give him time; it’s hard to come up with a defense for the indefensible! Rushing into defend something like this is hardly an optimal situation.

  19. Apparently both General Ham and Admiral Gaouette may also have refused to stand down just like ex-SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

President Obama is ducking the few pointed questions being put to him and trying to run out the clock till the election over. Establishment media is engaged in a felony display of depraved indifference to the murder of 4 brave Americans and they’re actively participating in the cover-up to conceal the treachery of our Commander-in-Chief.

Barack Obama deserves to be removed from office for betraying the trust of the American people.

  20. Rear Admiral Charles Gaouette assumed command of Carrier Strike Group 3 only last April, so being relieved now is very early. However, “inappropriate judgement” very frequently refers to things other than those which are political in nature, such as an “inappropriate” personal relationship.

General Carter Ham, after serving as Commanding General, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, for 2½ years, became Commander, United States Africa Command, on March 8, 2011, and was in command of our intervention in Libya in 2011. Being relieved at this time means he will have served in his current post for only 1½ years, which seems like a short time. The previous Commander, General William Ward, served from October 1, 2007, to March 8, 2011. General — now Major General — Ward retired in April of 2011, but remains on active duty pending an investigation by the Inspector General concerning allegations he spent “several hundred thousand dollars allowing unauthorized people, including family members, to fly on government planes, and spent excessive amounts of money on hotel rooms, transportation and other expenses when he traveled as head of Africa Command.

  21. I have already written Chris Muir over the obvious error in his Sunday cartoon:

should have had a black, night sky, to note the missed 3:00 AM phone call.

Hillary Clinton was right in March of 2008: we shouldn’t have wanted Barack Hussein Obama answering that 0300 phone call, and he has now proved that.

Of course, she wasn’t the right person to be answering that call, either: as Secretary of State, she reportedly asked Libya if we could overfly their territory, in effect giving the Libyan government a veto over whether we mounted a rescue mission. (Not that it would have mattered, since we never tried.)

  22. @stripes.osd.mil For those unfamiliar with Gummint Lingo, “stripes” is for the DOD publication “Stars and Stripes”, osd” is “Office of the Secretary of Defense”, and “.mil” is like .com but it is used on all military websites and email addresses. The trouble is that, despite what the President said during the last debate, he lied through his scummy teeth. They are playing politics right now, trying to divert attention from the utter failure of President Obama and his Administration in this matter. Four Americans are stone-cold graveyard dead because of his Administration’s failures — requests for increased security were denied before the attacks — and because his Administration dillied and dallied when our people did come under attack.

Retired Lt. Col.: My Sources Say Obama Was in the Room Watching Benghazi Attack Happen

Posted on October 28, 2012 at 8:11am by Madeleine Morgenstern

Retired Army Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer said Saturday he has sources saying President Barack Obama was in the room at the White House watching the assault on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya unfold.

Two unarmed U.S. drones were dispatched to the consulate and recorded the final hours of the attack, which killed U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

“This was in the middle of the business day in Washington, so everybody at the White House, CIA, Pentagon, everybody was watching this go down,” Shaffer said on Fox News’ “Justice with Judge Jeanine.” “According to my sources, yes, [Obama] was one of those in the White House Situation Room in real-time watching this.”

Shaffer served as a senior operations officer for the Defense Intelligence Agency in Afghanistan in 2003 and wrote a book critical of the policies there. The U.S. government purchased the entire print run for $47,000 in an attempt at censorship just before its 2010 publication, claiming it contained classified material.

Shaffer said the question now is what precisely Obama did or didn’t do in the moments he saw the attack unfolding. The CIA reportedly made three urgent requests for military backup that were each denied.

“He, only he, could issue a directive to Secretary of Defense Panetta to do something. That’s the only place it could be done,” Shaffer said.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said last week the military did not intervene because they did not have enough information about what was happening on the ground.

Col. David Hunt, a Fox News military analyst, said the military could have had jets in the air within 20 minutes and forces on the ground within two hours.

“The issue is always political with the White House, but the secretary of defense gives the order, has to be approved by the White House, they wouldn’t pull the trigger, and it’s disgraceful,” Hunt said. “We’ve got guys dead.”

  29. The following paragraph is from the linked article in The American Thinker at my comment @19:38 above (emphasis added)

The New York Times ran an article by Elisabeth Bumiller titled “Panetta Says Risk Impeded Deployment to Benghazi.” The article refers to the night of September 11, 2012 and includes the following: As a result, Mr. Panetta said, he and two top commanders “felt very strongly that we could not put forces at risk in that situation.”

The commanders are Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Gen. Carter F. Ham of Africa Command, which oversees American military operations in Africa, including Libya. You probably have seen similar clips on TV. The impression being given by Mr. Panetta is that the three of them agreed upon the course of action.

Panetta’s story is falling apart. Apparently General Ham refused to obey the WH order to stand down and could only be prevented from sending military assistance to Woods and Doherty by relieving him of command on the spot. Very likely a similar situation obtained with Admiral Gaouette who commanded significant military forces as part of the multi-ship Carrier Strike Group 3 centered around a nuclear aircraft carrier.

Obama doomed himself, the only way he can try to remain in office is to subvert the election or to declare martial law and name himself president for life, otherwise it’s the gallows.

  30. Neither Yorkshire nor ropelight have been successful in citing reliable sources. Instead all information presented is based on unnamed anonymous sources.

Until we have credible sources/information, we must rely on what our Secretary of Defense is telling us.

One of our strengths is that we have the President, a civilian, being the Commander in Chief over our military. This makes it very difficult for a politically motivated, high ranking military person from making unilateral decisions for our military to act. Otherwise we would be like Pakistan, where the unelected military actually controls the elected government. Is this what you wish for here, folks?

The truth will not be known until a thorough investigation is conducted; then it would be possible for all of us to agree. Moreover, we can also agree that not enough information exists for us individually to make a valid assessment.

Therefore, for anyone to accuse our President and Secretary of Defense of treason, this is equivalent to this very accuser himself/herself of committing treason. Right, ropelight?

So ropelight, since you have an obviously strong political prejudice and bias, you should be gracious enough to recuse yourself from participating in this debate. :)

    Benghazi scandal demands answers

Prez shows utter lack of integrity, leadership
    By Jennifer C. Braceras | Monday, October 29, 2012 -

Last week, in the final presidential debate on foreign policy, Mitt Romney made a deliberate decision not to go after the president on Benghazi. Romney’s task was to present himself as a plausible commander in chief. To do so, he needed to remain above the fray and avoid getting into a spat with the president over the details of the attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya.

Romney was right (politically) to avoid a tit-for-tat with Obama on Benghazi. With the White House changing its story daily, any attempt by Romney to criticize the president on this issue would only have left him with a major case of whip-lash.

But the public and the media must demand answers. What exactly happened this past Sept. 11 in Libya? And why was the Obama administration unable or unwilling to prevent it?

The Benghazi controversy is not one, but four separate scandals — each of which calls into question the president’s leadership.

First, Benghazi raises legitimate questions about Obama’s competence as commander in chief. In last week’s debate, the president said that his No. 1 job is to keep Americans safe. Then why did he not do so in Benghazi?

Was the president unaware of the threat in Libya? Or did he simply fail to treat it with the requisite level of seriousness? The British saw the danger and closed their consulate months earlier. Once the attack was under way, why did the president fail to send assistance?

Second, the president’s reaction to Benghazi reveals his utter lack of integrity. That he allowed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to fall on her sword rather than man-up and accept responsibility for his administration’s failure was not only despicable, it was cowardly.
